IFAO

Le Bulletin de l’Institut français d’archéologie orientale (BIFAO) couvre l’ensemble des champs de l’égyptologie depuis sa première publication en 1901. Les études qui y paraissent, dont l’aire chronologique s’étend de l’Égypte prédynastique jusqu’à l’époque byzantine, illustrent l’état des recherches actuelles dans les domaines de l’archéologie, l’épigraphie, la lexicographie, l’histoire de l’art, la religion et la philologie.

À noter, parmi les 17 contributions de ce numéro, six articles portant sur :

• La protection magique assurée par un ensemble de formules conjuratoires et des représentations autour et au-dessus du sarcophage d’Ounas ;
• La découverte d’une tête en marbre exceptionnelle datant de la fin de l’époque hellénistique dans un quartier domestique byzantin du site de Taposiris Magna ;
• Le dieu Chou au dos des cercueils des époques tardives ;
• Le mastaba et les panneaux de bois du Maître Scribe du Roi Hésy-rê ;
• Les dernières découvertes faites dans le temple d’Apriès dans l’oasis de Bahariya ;
• Une nouvelle lecture des dipinti de la tombe U-j d’Abydos, qui corrige celle de noms individuels de souverains prédynastiques pour y voir l’expression imagée d’une qualité essentielle de la fonction monarchique : sa dimension « fulgurante ».

The Bulletin of the French Institute of Oriental Archaeology (BIFAO), which made its first appearance in 1901, covers all fields of Egyptology. Studies published in the BIFAO, extending chronologically from prehistory to the Byzantine period, illustrate the present state of research in the disciplines of archaeology, epigraphy, lexicography, history of art and philology.

Among the 17 contributions in this issue are six articles on:

• The magical protection provided by a set of conjuration formulas and representations around and above the coffin of Unas;
• The discovery of an exceptional marble head dating from the late Hellenistic period in a Byzantine domestic quarter of the Taposiris Magna site;
• The god Shu on the backs of coffins from the Late Perio;
• The mastaba and wooden panels of the Master Scribe of King Hesy-ra;
• The latest discoveries made in the temple of Apries in the Bahariya Oasis;
• A new interpretation of the dipinti in the tomb U-j at Abydos, which corrects the individual names of predynastic rulers to see them as a pictorial expression of an essential quality of the monarchical function: its power of stunning.

تُغطِّي نشرة المعهد الفرنسي للآثار الشرقية (BIFAO)، منذ صدور عددها الأول عام ١٩٠١م، جميع مجالات علم المصريات. ويَمتد مجال التسلسل الزمني للدراسات التي تظهر فيها من مصر ما قبل الأسرات حتى العصر البيزنطي، وتُبرِز ما آلت إليه الأبحاث الحالية في مجالات علوم الآثار، والنقوش، وصناعة المعاجم، وتاريخ الفن، والديانة والفيلولوجيا.

ومن بين المساهمات السبع عشرة التي يضمها هذا العدد، يُشار بوجه خاص إلى ست مقالات تتناول ما يأتي:

- الحماية السحرية التي تكفلها مجموعة من الصيغ التعويذية والتمثيلات المصوَّرة المحيطة بتابوت أوناس وفوقه؛

- اكتشاف رأس رخامي استثنائي يعود إلى أواخر العصر الهلنستي، عُثر عليه في حيٍّ سكني بيزنطي بموقع تاپوزيريس ماجنا؛

- الإله شو ممثَّلًا على ظهور التوابيت في العصور المتأخرة؛

- المصطبة والألواح الخشبية الخاصة بكاتب الملك الأكبر حِسي-رع؛

- أحدث الاكتشافات الأثرية في معبد أﭘﺮيس بالواحات البحرية؛

- قراءة جديدة للرسومات المطلية في المقبرة U-j بأبيدوس، تصحّح التفسير السابق الذي رأى فيها أسماءً فردية لملوك من عصر ما قبل الأسرات، وتقترح بدلًا من ذلك فهمها بوصفها تعبيرًا تصويريًا عن خاصية أساسية من خصائص الوظيفة الملكية، وهي بعدها «المُبهر».
