1969-176) : gr. Πιμμειῶμις < ég.

This article presents a hypothetical Egyptian etymology for the Greek name of an Isieion of Koptos, mentioned on a bilingual stela (hieroglyphs and demotic) from the corpus of Parthenios son of Paminis (Lyon inv. 1969-176): gr. Πιμμειῶμις < eg. “The estate of the sea road” (Pȝ-ʿ.wy-n-mj(.t)-ym) or, less probably, “That of the sea road” (Pȝ-n-mj(t)-ym). The road in question is certainly one of the two tracks linking the Red Sea to Koptos running through the Eastern Desert, the track of Myos Hormos by the Wadi Hammamat, or the track of Berenike.
Keywords: Koptos – Isis – Isieion – Parthenios – Red Sea.- Stéphane Pasquali ( : 131460102)
