Cet article examine l’orientation décisive que la Kaʿba imprime à la composition des Futūḥāt al-makkiyya, l’œuvre majeure d’Ibn ʿArabī (m. 638/1240). Prolongeant l’analyse du « paradoxe de la Kaʿba » formulée par Michel Chodkiewicz, l’étude retrace l’articulation entre les événements visionnaires liés au sanctuaire qu’Ibn ʿArabī rapporte dans son ouvrage. La dialectique entre matérialité et immatérialité de la Kaʿba se révèle ainsi solidaire de celle qui oppose les limites de la Loi révélée à l’absolu de la réalité divine. L’article montre en outre comment l’expérience d’Ibn ʿArabī au sanctuaire l’amène à concevoir l’édifice comme le « cœur de l’être », intégrant sa dimension corporelle au centre de sa métaphysique. Il met enfin en évidence le lien entre la perplexité (ḥayra) suscitée par la Kaʿba et l’investiture de l’auteur comme « héritier muhammadien », chargé de « préserver la sacralité de la Loi ».

This article investigates the decisive orientation that the Kaʿba imparts to the structure of the Futūḥāt al-Makkiyya, the magnum opus of Ibn ʿArabī (d. 638/1240). Extending Michel Chodkiewicz’s analysis of the “paradox of the Kaʿba”, it traces the interplay of the visionary events linked to the sanctuary that Ibn ʿArabī recounts in his work. The dialectic between the Kaʿba’s materiality and immateriality is thereby shown to mirror the tension between the limits of the revealed Law and the absoluteness of divine reality. The study further demonstrates how Ibn ʿArabī’s experience at the sanctuary leads him to conceive the edifice as the “heart of being”, instating its corporeal dimension at the centre of his metaphysics. Finally, it highlights the connection between the perplexity (ḥayra) elicited by the Kaʿba and the author’s investiture as the “Muhammadan heir”, entrusted with “preserving the sacrality of the Law”.

يتناول هذا المقال التوجّه الحاسم الذي تضفيه الكعبة على تكوين كتاب «الفتوحات المكية»، وهو العمل الأهم لابن عربي (ت. ٦٣٨ هـ/١٢٤٠ م). وانطلاقًا من تحليل «مفارقة الكعبة» كما صاغها ميشيل شودكيفيتش (Chodkiewicz Michel)، تتبّع الدراسة ترابط الأحداث الرؤيوية المتعلقة بالحرم التي يسردها ابن عربي في كتابه. حيث يتضح أن الجدلية بين مادية الكعبة ولاماديتها ترتبط بالجدلية التي تعارض حدود الشريعة المنزلة بمطلق الحقيقة الإلهية. ويُبيّن المقال أيضًا كيف أن تجربة ابن عربي في الحرم دفعته إلى تصور البناء كـ «قلب الوجود»، حيث دمج البُعد المادي للكعبة في صميم تصورها الميتافيزيقي. ويُبرز المقال أخيرًا الصلة بين الحَيْرَة التي تثيرها الكعبة وتولية المؤلف لقب «الوارث المحمدي»، المُكلَّف بـصون حرمة الشريعة».
