Les Annales Islamologiques 58 proposent un dossier, coordonné par Jo Van Steenbergen et Maya Termonia, consacré aux riches traditions historiographiques arabes du sultanat du Caire (VII^e/XIII^e – X^e/XVI^e siècle). Il porte en particulier sur les nombreuses dimensions contextuelles, textuelles et sémiotiques de la construction des mémoires sociales dans cette historiographie, dans le but d'approfondir la compréhension de la façon dont ces dimensions relient, de diverses manières, les textes d'histoire aux environnements sociaux, culturels et surtout politiques de leur production, réception et circulation. 

Ce dossier évoque la série de questions suivantes : quels sont les contextes dans lesquels un texte historiographique, ou un corpus textuel, ont été créés ? Que peut-on dire du positionnement d'un auteur dans ces contextes ? Comment un texte historiographique et ses récits sont-ils organisés et structurés ? Quels sont les textes, les thèmes, les fins didactiques et les multiples niveaux de sens communiqués dans un texte ou un ensemble de textes historiographiques ?

Par ailleurs, ce numéro des Annales Islamologiques comprend une rubrique libre, les varia. L'article qui y est publié mêle les approches philologiques et historiques qui sont au fondement de la politique éditoriale de la revue.

This volume engages with the rich Arabic historiographical traditions of the Sultanate of Cairo (VIIth/XIIIth – Xth/XVIth centuries). It focuses in particular on the many contextual, textual and semiotic dimensions of the construction of social memories in this historiography, aiming to further understandings of how these dimensions connected texts of history in diverse ways to the social, cultural and above all political environments of their production, reception and circulation. It engages with the following set of questions: what are the contexts within which a historiographical text, or textual corpus, were created? What can be said about an author’s positioning within these contexts? How are a historiographical text and its narratives organized and structured? What textual, themes, didactic purposes and layers of meaning are being communicated in a historiographical text, or set of texts?

This issue of Annales Islamologiques also includes a free section: the varia. The article published here combines philological and historical approaches, which form the basis of the journal's editorial policy.

هذا المجلد مُكَرَّس للتقاليد التاريخية العربية الغنية لسلطنة القاهرة (القرن السابع / الثالث عشر - العاشر / السادس عشر). يتمَحوَر بشكل خاص حول العديد من الأبعاد السياقية والنصية والسيميائية لبناء الذكريات الاجتماعية في علم التأريخ، هذا يهدف إلى تعميق فهم كيف أنّ هذه الأبعاد تربط، بطرق مختلفة، نصوص التاريخ بالبيئات الاجتماعية والثقافية ولاسيما السياسية التي تؤثّر على إنتاجها واستقبالها وتداولها.

إنَّ هذا المجلد يثير السلسلة التالية من الأسئلة: ما هي السياقات التي تم فيها إنشاء نص تاريخي، أو مجموعة نصية؟ ماذا يمكننا أن نقول عن مكانة المؤلف في هذه السياقات؟ كيف يتم تنظيم وهيكلة النص التاريخي ؟ ما هي النصوص والموضوعات والأهداف التعليمية ودلالات المعنى المتعددة التي يتم توفيرها في نص أو مجموعة من النصوص التاريخية

هذه الحقبة التاريخية، وجهاتِ نظر متقاطعة، شرقا وغربا، عن هذا النهر الذي هو محلّ فضول مشترك. كذلك، يتضمن هذا العدد بابا حرّا هو باب المتنوعات (Varia)، وتمزج المقالات المنشورة فيه المقاربتين الفيلولوجية والتاريخية، وكِلتاهما في صميم خط المجلة التحريري.
