The article is based on an unpublished document about the waqf of the Sultan al-Nāṣir Muḥammad Ibn Qalāwūn. This document provides important information about the village of al-Burğ in the district of Beirut during the Mamluk rule at the beginning of the eighth century AH/fourteenth century AD. It constitutes a model of administration of the lands and properties of the Franks occupied by the Mamluks.
