Un instrument d’étude des objets méroïtiques et post-méroïtiques dans les inventaires du Musée égyptien du Caire. Bilan d’un programme pluriannuel de documentation
Cet article présente les résultats d’une série de missions effectuées au Musée égyptien du Caire entre 2018 et 2022 dans le cadre du programme de recherche « Répertoire d’iconographie méroïtique (18232) » de l’Ifao. Elles visaient à recenser les objets méroïtiques et postméroïtiques des collections publiques égyptiennes grâce aux inventaires disponibles sur place, notamment la base de données du Musée égyptien du Caire et le Journal d’entrée.
Le contexte historique et les intentions du projet sont d’abord rappelés, puis les différentes sources d’informations sont décrites avec leur complémentarité. Le corpus obtenu est ensuite rapidement décrit par quelques statistiques sur la provenance, la datation et la typologie des objets, avec des pistes de recherche ultérieures. Enfin, le choix du mode de publication du corpus est explicité, ainsi que les moyens pour tous d’accéder aux données et de les réutiliser.
This article presents the results of three missions carried out at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo between 2018 and 2022 as part of IFAO’s “Répertoire d’Iconographie Méroïtique (18232)” research programme. The aim was to identify Meroitic and X-Group objects in Egyptian public collections using locally available inventories, in particular the database and registers of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
The historical context and aims of the project are first outlined, followed by a description of the various sources of information and how they complement each other. The corpus obtained is then briefly described, with a few statistics on the provenance, dating and typology of the objects, along with avenues for further research. Finally, the choice of how to publish the corpus is explained, as are the ways in which everyone can access and re-use the data.
يعرِض هذا المقال نتائج سلسلة من البعثات التي أجريت في المتحف المصري في القاهرة بين عامي ٢٠١٨ و٢٠٢٢ في إطار برنامج بحثي بعنوان "قائمة المناظر التصويرية المروية (١٨٢٣٢)" التابع للمعهد الفرنسي للآثار الشرقية. وكان الهدف منه هو حصر القطع المروية وما بعد المروية في المجموعات المصرية العامة بفضل قوائم الجرد الموجودة هناك، ولا سيما قاعدة بيانات المتحف المصري بالقاهرة و"دفتر الدخول".
يتم التذكير أولًا بالسياق التاريخي للمشروع وأهدافه، يلي ذلك وصف لمصادر المعلومات المختلفة وكيف أنها تُكَمِّل بعضها البعض. بعد ذلك توصف المجموعة التي تم الحصول عليها بإيجاز، من خلال بعض الإحصائيات حول مصدر القطع وتاريخها وتصنيفها، مع توفير سُبل إجراء المزيد من البحث. وأخيرًا، يتم شرح كيفية نَشْر المجموعة، بالإضافة إلى الوسائل المتاحة للجميع للوصول إلى البيانات وإعادة استخدامها.
