En 2008, les fouilles de la Mafs dans la nécropole des reines du complexe funéraire de Pépy Ier ont mis au jour un panneau latéral appartenant à une chapelle miniature au nom d’un certain Irty. Ce monument présente sur l’une de ses faces une décoration originale : un quadrillage dont les multiples cases contiennent chacune une représentation du défunt nommé et titré. L’étude montre que le panneau appartenait à l’origine à une chapelle dont le pendant est conservé depuis plus de cent ans à la Glyptothèque Ny Carlsberg de Copenhague.

During 2008 excavations conducted by Mafs in the necropolis of the queens at the funerary complex of Pepy I, a side panel belonging to a miniature chapel belonging to a certain Irty was brought to light. On one of its sides the original decoration can be identified in which multiple compartments are visible, each containing a representation of the named and titled deceased. This study reveals from where this panel originally came, and locates its matching counterpart, preserved for more than hundred years at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen.
