Une nouvelle inscription de Saladin a été trouvée en 2002 par l’équipe de la Fondation Aga Khan à la base de la porte Bāb al-Barqiyya. La présente contribution étudie le texte épigraphique tout en donnant plusieurs justifications de lecture ainsi que des remarques sur les dates apparaissant dans cette stèle. La titulature et les territoires de Saladin mentionnés dans le texte de l’inscription prouvent qu’il s’agit bien d’un texte de propagande en faveur du nouveau pouvoir de l’Égypte et de la Syrie.

A new inscription of Saladin was found in 2002 by the team of the Aga Khan Foundation on the base of the door Bāb al-Barqiyya. The present contribution studies the epigraphic text while giving several justifications of reading as well as remarks on the dates appearing in this stele. The titulature and the territories of Saladin mentioned in the text of the inscription prove that it is indeed about a propaganda text in favour of the new power of Egypt and Syria.
