The 145 ostraca excavated by the French/Polish archaeological mission at Tell Edfu in Egypt constitute an invaluable complement to the Greek papyri of Apollônos Anô published by R. Rémondon. They allow a more accurate dating of the previous Edfu documents. Remarkable by the adequacy between the support, the handwriting and the language of the writer (classical Sahidic Coptic or Edfu Coptic dialect, officiel Greek), they are also exceptional by the variety of the approached subjects: religious life, property management, taxation, trade, crafts. They are precious testimonies of the 7th century everyday life in Edfu.
