At the coastal site of Erythron (Latrun) are preserved the remains of a large Roman bath whose excavations are still on going. This complex is unusual by its octagonal plan and scale (950m2) and unique by its history. Built in the late 2nd or early 3rd century AD, it was transformed into a villa with peristyle and a reception room with stibadium; in a final phase, the site was densely reoccupied by dwellings, workshops and a cathedral (5th-8th century).
