Origins 5
Ce colloque s’inscrit dans la continuité des précédentes manifestations (Cracovie 2002, Toulouse 2005, Londres 2008, New-York 2011) qui réunissent tous les trois ans l’ensemble des chercheurs travaillant sur les origines de l’Égypte. Cette réunion rassemblera au Caire en avril 2014, pendant 5 jours, une centaine de chercheurs venant du monde entier et présentant des approches diverses sur le thème de la naissance de l’État en Égypte. Ces cinquièmes rencontres internationales marqueront une nouvelle étape dans l’élan scientifique acquis par les études pré- et protodynastiques, et affirmeront la place qu’elles occupent désormais dans la recherche archéologique en Égypte et dans les régions voisines.

The fifth international conference of Predynastic and Early Dynastic Studies marks the continuation of the previous successful conferences which happens every three years: Kraków 2002, Toulouse 2005, London 2008 and New York 2011. This five-day international event will gather in Cairo a network of experts from different countries. They will present and discuss their respective research relating a significant range of themes within the broader subject of the origins of the Egyptian State (from the Predynastic period to the beginning of the Old Kingdom). This Fifth international conference marks a new stage in the momentum acquired by Predynastic and Early Dynastic studies.
