On the occasion of the launch of the Arabic-English Digital Database and Website 'News of Cairo', the The “Digital Cairo” team is organizing a open online workshop to present and discuss the online database.
News of Cairo is a textual database of Arabic and Ottoman Turkish articles about Cairo's urban development from the official Egyptian government journal, al-Waqāʾiʿ al-Miṣriyyah, between 1828 and 1914.
Digital Cairo is a sub-project of La fabrique du Caire moderne (Ifao-InVisu-Duke University), with the help of the collaborative research award from the National Endowment for the Humanities (RZ-286808-22).
The workshop will be held online on Zoom application, 30 june 2025 at 6 pm (Cairo time / 11 am New York). Attendance is available on registration, please fill the online form in order to receive the Zoom link (click here).
