Langue : anglais.
After the inspiring 1st colloquium on mammisis (birth houses) of Egypt organized by the IFAO on 27-29th March 2019 and the successful submission of its proceedings in the BdE 182, the organizers are pleased to invite you to the 2nd international conference on the topic of ‘mammisis of Egypt’.
The conference will take place in Cairo in Hybrid format: in the premises of IFAO for some participants and online, on Zoom application, for the rest of participants and for subscribed attendees from 27th to 28th March 2022.
This event aims at a better understanding of the mammisis. Based on the results of the first colloquium, which demonstrated the current state of research and the variety of questions, the studies are now to be deepened and the research area expanded. What are the characteristic features and the typical components of a mammisi? Which developments can be identified and what are they based on? These are just some of the possible questions the conference would like to investigate.
Researchers are kindly welcome to submit for this 2nd conference on ‘Mammisis of Egypt’ to share their knowledge with others through their projects. This shall be ensured through a range of general and specific case studies, related to the above-mentioned axis. An open dialogue and collaboration between the various sub-disciplines involved in this field of research are also expected.
The conference proceedings will be edited and published in one of the series of the IFAO.
The conference addresses the following axis beside others:
