تقام الحلقة السابعة من سيمنار «رواق» يوم الخميس ٢٥ فبراير ٢٠٢١ في السابعة مساء عبر الإنترنت وتستضيفها جمعية استكشاف مصر. يحاضر في هذه الحلقة د. أحمد الشوكي، الأستاذ المساعد بكلية الآثار جامعة عين شمس وعضو المجمع العلمي المصري. يدير الجلسة والمناقشة أ.د. ممدوح الدماطي، وزير الآثار السابق والقائم بأعمال عميد كلية الآثار جامعة عين شمس.

The seventh session of “Riwaq” seminar will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 7 pm via the Internet and hosted by the Egypt Exploration Society. Dr. Ahmed El-Shawky, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Archeology, Ain Shams University and a member of the Egyptian Scientific Academy will be the invited lecturer. The session and discussion will be moderated by Prof. Mamdouh Al-Damaty, former Minister of Antiquities and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Archeology, Ain Shams University.

ABSTRACT:
The citadel of Sheikh al-'Arab Hammām is located in Qena Governorate, near the village of Al-ʿArakī, about 6 km southwest of Farshût. The site is remarkable for the presence of the citadel that faces the wadi el-Ḥūl, which leads to Darb el-Arbaʿīn, the famous camel trail on which caravans have continued to circulate since remote times in the history of the Egypt. Never excavated to this day, this site constitutes a unique example of military fortifications from the Ottoman period that have survived in Upper Egypt (el- Ṣaʿīd).
The site is deeply linked to the name of Sheikh al-ʿArab Hammām, Prince Šaraf ad-Dawla Hammām ibn Yūsuf ibn Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Hammām known as Cheikh al-ʿArab, one of the eminent personalities of the Ṣaʿīd born in 1121 AH/1709 AD in Farshût and died in1183AH/ 1769AD.
IFAO started mission in this site in 2020 in cooperate with the ministry of tourism and Antiquities and faculty of Archaeology Ain Shams University, which headed by Dr. Ahmad Alshoky, This lecture sheds light on the most important results of this mission.
ملخص:
تقع قلعة شيخ العرب همام والذي يقه بـمحافظة قنا بقرية العركي، جنوب غرب فرشوط بحوالي 6كم، وترجع أهمية هذا الموقع نظراً لوقوع القلعة في مواجهة وادي الحول وهو الطريق الرئيسي المؤدي لدرب الأربعين من هذه المنطقة وهو الدرب التجاري الشهير الذي دأبت القوافل التجارية المرور عبره لفترات طويلة من تاريخ مصر. ويعد هذا الموقع من المواقع البكر التي لم يسبق إجراء أية حفائر بها، وهو يمثل نموذجًا فريدًا للمنشآت الحربية التي لا زالت باقية بصعيد مصر.
يرتبط الموقع ارتباطاً بشخصية شيخ العرب همام وهو الأمير شرف الدولة همام بن يوسف بن احمد بن محمد بن همام الملقب بشيخ العرب وهو من أشهر شخصيات الصعيد ولد عام1121هــ/1709م في فرشوط محافظة قنا وتوفى عام 1183هـ /1769م.
وسوف تلقي هذه المحاضرة الضوء على أهم نتائج الموسم الأول للحفائر التي تمت بهذا الموقع من قبل البعثة الفرنسية المصرية برئاسة الدكتور أحمد الشوكي والتي تم بالتعاون ما بين وزارة السياحة والآثار المصرية والمعهد الفرنسي للآثار الشرقية بالقاهرة وكلية الآثار جامعة عين شمس.
Ahmad Al-shoky -أحمد الشوكي
Associated Professor in the Department of Archeology, Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, since 2015 until now. In addition, Active member of Institut d’Égypte since 2018, He also was Chairman of National Library and Archives of Egypt from 1/4/2017 to 1/4/2018, and he was Director General of the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo between 9/15/2014 and 2/5/2017. He is a member of many associations and organizations such as the General Union of Arab Archaeologists and the International Council of Museums ICOM. He has many papers and books in the field of Islamic archeology and heritage preservation. He had the Academic Excellence Award for Young Arab Archaeologists for the year 2017. He participated as a member and trainer of the IFAO at the sites of Cairo walls from 2007 to 2014. He is currently the head of the French-Egyptian mission for the site of Qal’at Sheikh al-ʿArab Hammām in Qena.
يشغل وظيفة أستاذ مساعد بقسم الآثار كلية الآداب جامعة عين شمس منذ 2015 وحتى الآن، وهو كذلك عضو بالمجمع العلمي المصري بالانتخاب منذ عام 2018، كما عمل رئيسًا لمجلس إدارة الهيئة العامة لدار الكتب والوثائق القومية في الفترة من 1/4/2017 وحتى 1/4/2018، وكان كذلك مديرًا عامًا لمتحف الفن الإسلامي بالقاهرة في الفترة من 15/9/2014 وحتى 5/2/2017. وهو عضو في العديد من الجمعيات والمنظمات الدولية مثل الاتحاد العام للآثاريين العرب، والمجلس الدولي للمتاحف ICOM، له العديد من الأبحاث والمؤلفات في مجال الآثار الإسلامية والحفاظ على التراث، حصل على جائزة التفوق العلمي لشباب الآثاريين العرب لعام 2017، اشترك كعضو ومدرب ببعثة حفائر المعهد الفرنسي للآثار الشرقية بالقاهرة بمواقع أسوار القاهرة-برج الظفر وجراج الدراسة وباب النصر-منذ عام 2007 وحتى 2014. وهو حاليًا رئيس للبعثة الفرنسية المصرية المشتركة بموقع قلعة شيخ العرب همام بمحافظة قنا.

Organized by Dr Ahmad Alshoky et Abbès Zouache, RIWAQ seminars is a meeting of Egyptian and foreign specialists in the field of Islamic and Coptic archaeology, held to offer and discuss the most important opinions and theories related to the Islamic and Coptic influences in Egypt and the Islamic world in their various fields, whether Islamic architecture, art, painting, numismatics ... The RIWAQ seminars is a cooperation between IFAO and the Faculty of Archaeology, Aïn Shams University.
سلسلة ندوات رواق ينظمها كل من د. أحمد الشوكي و د. عباس زواش وهو لقاء بين المختصين المصريين والأجانب في مجال علم الآثار الإسلامية والقبطية لعرض ومناقشة أهم الآراء والنظريات المتعلقة بالتأثيرات الإسلامية والقبطية في مصر والعالم الإسلامي في مجالاتهم المختلفة سواء العمارة الإسلامية، الفن، الرسم الزخرفي، والمسكوكات. السيمنار ثمرة تعاون بين المعهد الفرنسي للآثار وكلية الآثار جامعة عين شمس.
