Formation ouverte aux jeunes chercheurs et aux chercheurs plus expérimentés
La formation d’une semaine (du 6 au 10 octobre), assurée par quatre égyptologues, permettra à une dizaine d’étudiants d’appréhender les différentes techniques de relevé épigraphique et iconographique, et de choisir la méthode qu’il est préférable d’appliquer suivant les aléas de l’accès à la documentation. Elle a pour vocation de développer l’esprit critique des jeunes chercheurs face au travail de relevé. Le premier volet de la formation se déroulera au Caire, le second en région thébaine.
Cette formation est également ouverte aux professionnels égyptiens (conservateurs, inspecteurs, etc.) qui souhaitent améliorer leurs connaissances en matière de relevés épigraphiques (techniques utilisées, exploitation des relevés).
Informations pratiques :
La formation aura lieu pendant la semaine du 6 au 10 octobre.
Les instructions seront données principalement en anglais.
Le transport des étudiants peut être pris en charge dans la limite du budget de l’académie.
Le transport des professionnels égyptiens (conservateurs, inspecteurs, etc.) ne peut être assuré par l’académie.
Tous les participants seront hébergés par l'académie (à l’Ifao au Caire et dans un hôtel en région thébaine).

Training open to students as well as scholars with some experience
(such as Egyptian professionals, be they curators, inspectors, and so on).
The one-week training (from 6 to 10 October), conducted by four Egyptologists who are all involved in epigraphic projects, aims to provide the participants with the relevant tools and techniques of epigraphic survey and iconographic studies and to enable them to choose the most appropriate solution(s) when confronted in the field with the recording of an inscription/scene. The purpose of the training is therefore to develop the critical thinking skills that ought to be applied during the surveying process. The first part of the training will take place in Cairo, the second in Luxor.
Practical information:
The training will take place from 6 to 10 October.
Instructions will be given mainly in English.
Students transportation could be covered by the Académie’s budget, to a certain extent though, providing that students could not get any stipend from their own institutions; however the transportation of Egyptian professionals (curators, inspectors, etc.) cannot be provided by the Académie.
Accommodation for all participants (at the IFAO in Cairo and in a hotel in Luxor) is also covered by the Académie’s budget.
