Comment soumettre des échantillons ?

Tout échantillon issu de fouilles menées sur le territoire égyptien est accepté au laboratoire si son transfert est autorisé par le Ministère des Antiquités. Pour obtenir cet accord, mentionnez ce point dans l’intitulé de votre demande de travail : (par exemple) "demande de prélèvements et de transfert au laboratoire de l’Ifao d’échantillons de (liste des matériaux) pour datation par le carbone 14". 
Si le comité permanent et la sécurité du Ministère du Tourisme et des Antiquités vous en donnent l’accord, le protocole à suivre pour le transfert d’échantillons est détaillé ici. Il est indispensable de nous prévenir avant tout transfert d’échantillons au laboratoire. Adressez-nous un courrier de déclaration d’intention en exposant votre problématique archéologique, une approximation du nombre et du type d’échantillons et de la période de transfert des échantillons au laboratoire.

Une fois vos échantillons transférés au laboratoire, nous vous enverrons un devis. Nous entamerons le traitement dès réception du formulaire d’informations en ligne ci-dessous et du devis signé.

Quels matériaux/quelles quantités ?

Le tableau suivant donne la liste des matériaux que le laboratoire peut traiter actuellement et les quantités minimales exigées et recommandées afin de mener l’analyse. N’hésitez pas à nous contacter si vous envisager de travailler sur d’autres types de matériaux, ou si les quantités disponibles sont un peu inférieures.

Submitting Samples to the Laboratory

How to submit samples?

Any archaeological sample from excavations carried out on the Egyptian territory is accepted at the laboratory if its transfer is authorized by the Ministry of Antiquities. To obtain this agreement, you have to mention this point in your work request: (e.g.) "Request for sampling and transferring to the Ifao laboratory samples of (list of materials) for radiocarbon dating". 

If the Permanent Committee and the Security Committee of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities give you the agreement, the protocol to be followed for the samples transfer is detailed here. Please inform us before any transfer of samples to the laboratory. Send us a courriel () stating your archaeological project, an approximation of the number and type of samples and the period of the samples transfer to the laboratory.

Once your samples are transferred to the laboratory, we will send you a quotation. We will begin processing as soon as we receive the online information form below and the signed quotation.

The following table lists the materials that can currently be analyzed at the laboratory and the minimum quantities required/recommended to conduct analysis.
