Le ministère de la Culture, le Conseil suprême des antiquités, la délégation de la Commission européenne en Égypte, les ambassades et instituts européens présentent l’exposition :
Europe - Égypte : une longue coopération archéologique
Dès le début du XIXe siècle, l’archéologie en Égypte commençait à attirer une multitude de voyageurs et universitaires européens. En redécouvrant les principales caractéristiques de l’histoire égyptienne des pharaons aux temps modernes, ces pionniers contribuèrent à établir des liens scientifiques renforcées entre les pays européens ainsi qu’entre l’Europe et l’Égypte.
L’exposition « Europe - Égypte : une longue coopération archéologique » retrace en image quelques-uns des projets communs mis en oeuvre par des chercheurs européens et égyptiens. Une quarantaine de photographies présentées par 16 pays européens s’organisent autour de six thèmes illustrant les principaux aspects des activités européennes dans le domaine de l’archéologie : historique, formation, coopération, fouilles, restauration et valorisation.

The Ministry of Culture, the Supreme Council of Antiquities, the Delegation of the European Commission in Egypt, the European embassies and institutes present the exhibition:
Europe–Egypt: A Long-Lasting Archaeological Cooperation
From the beginning of the XIXth century, archaeology in Egypt began to entice a multitude of European travellers and academics. By rediscovering the main characteristics of the Egyptian history, from Pharaohs to modern times, these pioneers contributed to establish strong scientific links between the European countries as well as between Europe and Egypt.
The exhibition “Europe–Egypt: A Long-Lasting Archaeological Cooperation” redraws in image some of the shared projects operated by European and Egyptian researchers. About forty photos presented by 16 European countries are organized around six subjects illustrating the main aspects of European activities in the field of archaeology: background, training, cooperation, excavations, restoration and valorisation.
