IFAO

The Ifao is organizing a day dedicated to Esna and its heritage, with the aim of highlighting the restoration and urban development work undertaken recently by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, University of Tubengen and the VISIT-Esna Project, as well as the pioneering work of documentation, studies, and publications begun earlier on by the Ifao.

The event includes a half-day of lectures and presentations followed by the opening of an exhibition on Esna's heritage: photos, heritage clothing, and local recipes in the main hall, followed by a tasting of Esna's culinary specialties in the Ifao gardens, accompanied by a Tahtib show.

ينظم المعهد الفرنسي للآثار الشرقية يومًا مخصصًا لإسنا وتراثها، بهدف تسليط الضوء على أعمال الترميم والتطوير العمراني التي تمت مؤخرًا من قبل وزارة السياحة والآثارو جامعة توبنجن الألمانية ومشروع "الاستثمار في السياحة المستدامة والمتكاملة بمدينة إسنا"*، بالإضافة إلى الأعمال الرائدة في التوثيق والدراسات والمنشورات التي بدأها المعهد سابقًا.

تشمل الفعالية نصف يوم من المحاضرات والعروض التقديمية يليها افتتاح معرض عن تراث إسنا: صور فوتوغرافية وملابس تراثية ووصفات محلية في القاعة الرئيسية، يليه تذوق أطباق إسنا التراثية في حدائق المعهد مصحوبًا بعرض تحطيب.

 

*يتم تنفيذ مشروع "الاستثمار في السياحة المستدامة والمتكاملة بمدينة إسنا" من قبل تكوين لتنمية المجتمعات المتكاملة بالتعاون مع وزارة السياحة والآثار، وزارة التعاون الدولي، ومحافظة الأقصر، وبدعم من الوكالة الأمريكية للتنمية الدولية.

2:10 p.m. - The Ifao and the monuments of Esna: a long history (Florence Albert, Operational Manager, Editorial Department, Ifao)

& Cédric Larcher (Director of the archives and special collection department, Ifao)

3 p.m. - The restoration of Esna Temple : Dr. Hicham el-Lethy (Under Secretary of State for Documentation of Egyptian Antiquities) & Christian Leitz (Universität Tübingen)

4 p.m.: Presentation of the project: The Value Investment in Sustainable Integrated Tourism in Esna (VISIT-Esna): Karim Ibrahim (CEO & Co-Founder of Takween Integrated Community Development) - (Lecture and Q&A - 1 hour)

 

6.00 pm: Opening of Takween's photo exhibition and activities on Esna's tangible and intangible heritage. Tasting of Esna's culinary specialities in the Ifao gardens

7 p.m. : Tahtib show
