Papyrology in Egypt. Religion in the Texts

The French Institute of Oriental Archaeology (IFAO) and the German Institute of Archaeology in Cairo (DAIK) are glad to announce the Third Seminar for Young Egyptian Academics in Greek, Coptic and Arabic papyrology, which will take place at both institutes, on 2 December 2017. This seminar will focus on “Religion in the papyri”.
The day will be divided into two parts :
9.30 AM -12.30 PM : Lectures in DAIK (see program)
13.15 PM Lunch in IFAO
14.30-17.30 PM : Workshops in IFAO, reading of Greek, Coptic or Arabic texts
related to religion.
This seminar is exclusively conceived for Egyptian students currently preparing their Master or PhD degrees in Egypt. The number of participants is limited to 8 people in each language. Applications (in English), consisting of a cover letter and a CV which details the applicants’ education and command of foreign languages, ought to be sent before 22 November 2017 to the following contacts :
