• Archaeological context:
– Area B: elongated cist tomb (1st-2nd century) and rock-cut cave used for burial (Iron Age to Early Roman period);
– Area C (1st-2nd century): probable remains of a farm (building, cistern, ritual bath, cave, perhaps a small settlement);
– Area G (Byzantine period): large building, perhaps a church; (Mamluk period): village.
• Examples of glass objects from Khirbet Ṭabaliya:
– Area B: two mould cast vessels (nos 1, 2, Late Hellenistic and Early Roman periods);
– Area C: bottle or jug (no. 6, Roman period);
– Area G: most of the glass objects were found there:
- Byzantine - Early Umayyad Periods:
bowls (nos 8, 9),
beakers and wineglasses (nos 10-17),
bottles and jugs (nos 16-21),
pilgrim flask (no. 24),
lamps (nos 25-37),
window glass (nos 38-40);
- Mamluk period :
bottle.
