• Primary glass workshop at Tyre.
• Twelve samples - from unworked lumps or chunks of glass, from the island site, one - lump of raw glass found in the hippodrome.
– Elemental analyses: SiO2, TiO2, Al2O3, FeO, MnO, MgO, CaO, Na2O, K2O, P2O5, SO3, Cl, CoO, CuO, ZnO:
- all of them are of the soda-lime-silica type;
- samples from the island: high potash and magnesia – ash-plant-based glass;
- sample from the hippodrome: low potash, low mangesia – natron-based glass.
• Question with regard to the replacement of natron-based glasses by ash-plant based glasses during the 9th century.
