• Archaeological context: part of a town discovered in the ruins of a temple built and developed from the Pharaonic to the Roman Period [cf. Harden 1940 - same volume].

• Technical reports on some glass objects found during the excavations at Ermant:
– millefiori bead: Roman period or later (before A.D. 1000);
– handle or knob: X-ray and chemical analyses: SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, CuO, MnO, CaO, MgO, Na2O, K2O.
– imitation beryl bead: contains a small percentage of lead oxide.

• Materials concerned with glass making (secondary workshop):
– slag with lumps of green glass adhered;
– glass frit (white colour): sodium-calcium glass;
– fragments of crucibles encrusted with opaque red glass frit: sodium-calcium glass with mixture of cuprous oxide and lead oxide;
– fragments of crucibles encrusted with white crystals of calcium sulphate.
