La date de découverte est fournie par Ms Legrain-Kuentz (Musée du Caire), V/4: “Trouvée le 23 Avril 1904 dans la Cachette de Karnak” (G. Legrain).
Sur cette fiche, la statue d’Ḥrbs K238 a été un temps erronément identifiée à JE 36905bis (Mnṯw-m-ḥȝt, fils de Rȝ-ḥȝt; K272, voir CK 242).
Cette statue a été offerte par G. Maspero à Lady Cecil et n’a jamais été enregistrée au Musée du Caire (voir à ce sujet: Ms. 4027, f° 340; Carter, Legrain:1905 et Bothmer:1960).
