Hardwick (11/04/2011) : “The statue is made out of what I would call granodiorite ("granit gris" / "black / grey granite" etc), as can be seen on the broken edge of the crown; however, the central part of the kilt is made separately, and sits in place - which supports the suggestion that the damaged piece was restored and usurped from Thutmose III rather than made in the TIP. This piece is made from what I would call serpentine: it is a dark stone with browner patches in it, and polishes more easily than granodiorite. “
