La provenance Cachette et la date de découverte de JE 36576 ont longtemps été incertaines, mais sont aujourd’hui assurées grâce à une série de documents d'archives. Il y a d'abord une lettre de Legrain à Maspero (Ms. 4027, f° 315) : « Nous avons terminé aujourd’hui [21 janvier 1904] notre fouille (…). En tout quatre statues dont deux intactes, celle de Ramsèsnakhtou [K9] et le groupe de 3 personnes qui est une pièce de grande valeur, elle aussi. » Aucun autre "groupe de 3 personnes" n'a été trouvé dans cette période. C’est donc de K 5 - JE 36576 qu'il s'agit. Cela est partiellement confirmé par la légende de la photo Ms. 4059/2, n° 99: « Groupe de Pscheretasoui, Pscheretamasu et Nofritiou - 5-21 janvier » (Azim, Réveillac:2004, I, 331-332) ainsi que par l'objet n° "7" du bordereau d'envoi du 24 janvier 1904 (Ms. 4027, f° 318) qui est un "Groupe de trois personnages assis. Granit foncé". Encore, deux photographies de l'album de Lady Cecil (janvier 1904) montrent, l'une le groupe JE 36576 et l'autre le scribe de Ramsèsnakht CG 42162 encore humides du lavage à l'eau consécutif à leur extraction de la Cachette. Finalement, JdF 1903-1904, 30 signale pour le « 21 janvier [1904] » la découverte d'« Une triade » qui sera aussi enregistrée comme « 5. Pscheretasoui et famille » dans la « Liste des statues découvertes » (JdF 1903-1904, 37) dont les 11 premiers objets correspondent au bordereau d'envoi du 24 janvier comme l'indique la note « Envoyés au Musée ».
