• Glass lamps from Bet Sheʾan found in some deposits:
– Byzantine (5th – 6th centuries),
– Umayyad (mid-7th – mid-8th centuries),
– late Umayyad (context dated from 738-749),
– Abbasid to Fatimid (mid-8th – 11th centuries),
– Ayyubid to Mamluk (12th – 14th centuries).

• Types of glass lamps from Bet Sheʾan:
1. small bowl with three handles (fig. 1) - present in all five contexts;
2. small bowl with solid knobbed stem: one to four knobs (fig. 2) - present in all five contexts;
3. variant of Type 2: small bowl with solid, smooth stem (fig. 3) - Byzantine to Fatimid contexts, but not in late Umayyad deposit;
4. small bowl with smooth, hollow stem (fig. 4) - Byzantine to late Umayyad contexts;
5. variant of Type 4: small bowl with hollow stem: narrow at the bottom and wider toward the top (fig. 5) - Umayyad to Mamluk contexts;
6. so-called “mosque lamps” (fig. 6) - Abbasid to Fatimid contexts;
7. small bowl with vertical tube at the centre (fig. 7) - Abbasid to Mamluk contexts.
