• Primary and secondary glass workshops in Raqqa.
– Three-chambered glass furnaces, a sloping floor, evidence for the blowing and casting of glass.

• Chemical analysis: Al2O3, MgO, Na2O, CaO, P2O5, SiO2.
– Types of glass found at Raqqa:
1. soda-lime glass + plant ash (alkali): low aluminia,
2. high aluminia, high magnesia, low silica, high phosphorus pentoxide,
3. soda-lime glass + mineral alkali: high aluminia, low soda, low magnesia,
4. high magnesia (higher than type 1 and 2), low alumina.

• The earliest examples of the Islamic plant ash glass.
