• Archaeological context:
only one fragment is stratigraphically connected to the tomb’s period of use (base of bowl or plate: fig. 1:5 (3rd century A.D.), most of the fragments probably originated from nearby sites, indicating the use of the tomb as a dump.

• Examples of glass objects found in the Migdal Ashqelon tomb:
– several vessels (drinking glasses and bottles) decorated with trails of the same colour, or with blue, turquoise, dark red or light greenish trails (fig. 2: 9-11; 4: 1-6, 9);
– fragments of beakers with trail-wound bases (fig. 2: 3-7);
– fragment of base of drinking glass, decorated with faint mould-blown vertical ribbing (fig. 2: 12);
– fragments of bottles with mould-blown decoration (fig. 4: 7-16);
– fragment of body of bottle with row of horizontal pinches (fig. 4: 6);
– fragments of bowl-lamps with handles (fig. 5: 1-3);
– fragment of bowl-lamp with wick tube (fig. 5: 4);
– lower part of lamp with hollow stem (fig. 5: 5);
– small fragments of window glass.
