• Examples of objects found in Fusṭāṭ - B area:
– Cesspool R’ (9th-10th century):
- flask with cut decoration (fig. 4a),
- fragments with tong-impressed decoration (fig. 4b and 4c).
– Pit V’ (9th-10th century):
- small bottle with mould-blown decoration (fig. 7a),
- lamp with three handles.
– Fill in the V’-X-U’ area:
- weight with inscription of Bishr b. Ṣafwān al-Kalbī, Governor of Egypt (720-721).
– Pit B in XVI-i’ (late 8th century):
- rim of measuring vessel with seal of Salāma, Prefect of Finance of Egypt (c. 762-771),
- bottles with filters,
- conical lamps (fig. 24), one with a banding of trailed red glass (fig. 25),
- cup with a banding of trailed red glass,
- coin weight with the name of ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Marwān al-Lakhmī, Governor of Egypt (749-750),
- beaker with lustre-painted decoration and inscription of ʿAbd al-Ṣamad ibn ʿAli, Governor of Egypt (772-773) - the first datable piece of lustred glass in Islamic art.
• Glass factory centring on the kiln at R [?].
