Legrain:1906, 27, donne cette statue comme provenant de: “Karnak, 1904” et lui attribue une "même provenance" que CG 42044, autre statue de Montouhotep trouvée « dans l’hypostyle au Sud du prosanctuaire, salle I de Mariette» (pour cette dernière, voir Legrain:1904f). Elle a toutefois été enregistrée comme « K.117 » au JE et JdF 1903-1904, 48 en date la découverte du 12/3/1904 sans signaler qu'elle provient d'un autre secteur du temple. Noter que Legrain:1906, pl. 26 représente la statue CG 42042 et non CG 42045. Cette statue porte une inscription laissée par le sš-mḏȝt-n-pr-ʿȝ Ḥr que Legrain:1904c rapproche d’une statue “parmi celles trouvées au VIIe pylône”. Il fait référence soit à K2 (6/1/1904), soit à K388 (4/6/1904). Toutes deux portent ce titre et il n’est pas possible de savoir laquelle des deux est citée par Legrain.
