La tête, acquise le 1er janvier 1904 (Emily Esther Sears Fund, 1904) provient probablement de Karnak (1903). Elle a été achetée à Louqsor par Albert M. Lythgoe pour le MFA. Le corps (Caire JE 37997) a été découvert en 1905 dans la Cachette de Karnak. Il semble donc que la tête de la statue n'était pas enterrée dans la Cachette.
