H. Ranke transcrit ce nom Ỉmbjj-š (?). Selon nous, il s’agit bien du nom Ỉmbj écrit dans cette tombe sous différentes graphies. D’après G. Roquet (cours EPHE IV 2000), la graphie présentant le signe-nfr à la place de celui de la jambe n’est pas une erreur du scribe comme le pensait S. Hassan (cf. Hassan, Giza I, p. 92). Il s’agit en réalité d’une graphie phonologique et phonétique qui trahit la véritable prononciation d’alors du nom Nfr (ou plus exactement du nom Nfj), après la palatalisation du r. L’avant dernier signe reste énigmatique. Le trait qui le suit semble indiquer qu’il s’agit d’un déterminatif.
